Live Purposefully....
Well just when Clare had declared parties "not all that", and had started to think that all the fun in the world actually happens on walks in the canyon, what with all our new found friends, four-legged and two-legged, she only went to the best party EVER!!! Of course it was thrown by Sir Philip Green and it really was the most amazing and quite extraordinary and really fun night. He took over the entire garden of Soho House for dinner with forty friends to celebrate his birthday. We stood on the roof as guest after guest arrived....we talked to agent Bryan Lourd and Director Brett Ratner, were deliriously happy to see Ryan, Randy and Simon and Mezhgan as they arrived. Hung out with Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, Lionel and Nicole Richie, Brits Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden, Sylvester Stallone and Robert Earl, it was a Hollywood fiesta and we loved every second of it. Clare was so lucky to sit next to a really amazing guy and they discussed purpose for the whole evening. Purpose.
Who knew that you could go to an amazing dinner like that, and then talk about deep and meaningful issues that made her think and want to do more and inspire her to change just a little bit more.It reminded her once again that “The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning.” It really is everything. I do believe that “Our minds are finite, and yet even in these circumstances of finitude we are surrounded by possibilities that are infinite, and the purpose of life is to grasp as much as we can out of that infinitude”. That's what they spoke about, what that purpose is for them and how to instill or inspire that purpose in others.
It honestly was the most unlikely encounter but one that was made more wonderful by the fact that it so rarely happens but actually why doesn't it? Two like minds and like souls meet and something amazing can happen in that moment. So that was our evening. Aside from that, it was the most amazing evening. Paul and Jason Statham ended up laughing so hard at some ridiculous nonsense, Natalie Cole sang Unforgettable which it most certainly was, and Tina ended up giving Philip the most amazing piece of art I'd ever seen. It was just beautiful and everyone had the most fantastic night. So, to revise the decision, Canyon's are great, Parties are great, Life is great.......you just never know where you'll find the next treasure, except that it's usually where you are least looking for it......“I am here for a purpose and that purpose is to grow into a mountain, not to shrink to a grain of sand. Henceforth will I apply ALL my efforts to become the highest mountain of all and I will strain my potential until it cries for mercy.”
